London Heathrow Animal Reception Center
Certain countries will require your pets to arrive as manifest cargo, which is the preferred method of travel for pets. One of those countries is the United Kingdom. So, if you and your pets are taking a trip to the UK, then plan for them to fly unaccompanied. However, they will be treated with extreme care when they arrive at the London Heathrow Animal Reception Center (HARC). Once pets touch down in the UK, they are transferred from the aircraft directly to the Heathrow Animal Reception Centre (HARC). Once pets are booked in at the HARC, they are released from their crates into the boarding/kennel space allocated & checked over to ensure they have traveled well. Each pet is scanned for a microchip reading while being released into the allocated kennel or cattery space. The kennels for dogs have an indoor area along with an outdoor run for the opportunity to stretch their legs. The inside area is climate maintained so that pets remain comfortable during their stay. The HARC provides beds & blankets, and food/water is offered. If there are any special dietary requirements or medication, this will be administered at this time. Once customs clearance has been completed, we will contact you to discuss delivery or collection. Please note that the whole process can take 5-8 hours from the flight arrival, which can vary depending on how busy the Airline, Authorities, or even HMRC customs are on the arrival date.
Brussels Animal Care & Inspection Center
This International Animal Transport Hub is a brand-new facility for animal transport and housing for pets traveling through one of the International Pet Travel Hubs, BRU (Brussels, Belgium). Multiple animals stay with adaptive lighting, temperature, and air cycling to make sure animals permanently reside in optimal conditions. The ACIC has dedicated export and import zones, which are physically separated to avoid contact between animals. The building is designed as passive; solar panels, heating pumps, and thermal exchange further cover energy needs. At the Animal Care & Inspection Center, we want to make the animal’s journey as comfortable as possible. This can be done, for example, by letting dogs out for a short walk just before departure or by taking them out of their crates as soon as they arrive and letting them out on our lawn. We have everything available to ensure that animals are kept in optimal conditions during their stay here regarding food, temperature, and care. Whether it’s dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, insects, birds, or mammals, each animal gets the best approach to make its stay as pleasant as possible while waiting for departure or waiting for release after being imported. All this is only made possible by the fact that all of our staff at least have a degree in animal care and are IATA LAR certified.
Furthermore, all accommodations in our building are equipped with all possible features to adjust light, air, and temperature according to the needs of the animal species staying there. And this is for both import and export. We also provide direct transport to and from the aircraft to ensure that animals are not exposed to extreme weather conditions on the tarmac. Our goal is to treat all animals as well as possible before and after their journey.
