For up-to-date travel advisories, click HERE. Currently (3/20/2020), most airlines have suspended all pet travel for pets booked as manifested cargo worldwide due to limited flights, routing limited cargo space, and country embargoes. Some exceptions may apply for the military, and some airlines may continue to offer an option for your pet to travel as excess baggage or in a cabin if eligible. Find that you have no options and you must travel without your pet. Continental Pet Relocation can provide boarding service options and handle your Pet Relocation process once the airlines resume live animal bookings. PET TRAVEL ALERTS DURING COVID 19

DELTA AIRLINES COVID 19 News and Alerts – Due to changing flight schedules in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Delta Cargo will temporarily embargo all PET shipments effective April 1, 2020, until further notice. The embargo applies to all live animals transported in cargo under the PET product code throughout the domestic and international network (an exception will be made for U.S. Military and Diplomat PET shipments, in addition to service and support animals that cannot be accommodated in the passenger cabin). Impacted customers will be proactively notified.

UNITED AIRLINES COVID 19 News and Alerts – As travel demand continues to drop and flight schedules are reduced accordingly due to circumstances beyond United’s control- along with government mandates and restrictions, it’s become necessary to make some difficult policy decisions to manage through these extraordinary and unprecedented times. Effective Wednesday, March 25th, we’re suspending all PetSafe and military pet transportation (including international and domestic) until further notice. If you have any upcoming pet bookings, our PetSafe team will work with you to confirm the cancellations. We are implementing these temporary measures in response to the unprecedented business environment brought on by the COVID-19 crisis. Updates will be communicated as they develop.

AMERICAN AIRLINES COVID 19 News and AlertsEffective Wednesday, March 25, we are implementing the following changes for Live Animal shipments scheduled on or after the effective date. Live Animal shipments will be restricted to domestic travel within and between the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. One flight segment per Live Animal booking will be allowed (no connecting flights)

STAY HOME!

Many states and countries have implemented a “Shelter In Place” order. Businesses and organizations that provide critical infrastructure for the state are exempted, including health care and public health, public safety, food and agriculture, and media. Businesses that fall under these categories do not need to obtain specific authorization from the state to operate.

Continental Pet Relocation can keep you informed regarding the current situation as we work closely with our airline partners and pet shipping colleagues worldwide. We offer long-term boarding solutions and logistical guidance if you must travel ahead of your pet. Please get in touch with us if you need any assistance with your pet(s) during this time.
